People are surprised when I open my mouth, asking, “Is that your real voice? It's so unique." They say it's sunshiny, cheerful, youthful, sweet, sincere, attention catching, "it just makes me happy," and "would you please read me bedtime stories about unicorns and rainbows forever?"

On CUNY TV's Science & U! I demonstrate a few fun experiments from my book, OH ICK! 114 Science Experiments Guaranteed to Gross You Out!
After literally being discovered on the street by WGBH producers, I studied voice over, improv and acting with the legendary Wren Ross. I am so happy behind a microphone. I still get that warm feeling when I enter the studio, of having found my home. I have been complimented for being easy to work with, responsive to direction, and able to convey rich emotions. I can handle many genres, but especially enjoy work for children.
Clients include WGBH, Mass Audubon, Mass Save, Service Titan, Mothers Out Front, various authors, and more. I have volunteered weekly for the National Library Service for 6 years, reading audiobooks (mostly young adult novels), magazines such as Yankee and Boston Magazine, newsletters, and anything else they ask me to! I also performed on Portland Helmich’s excellent podcast, Stranglers, produced by Earwolf and Northern Light Productions. I’m on episode 5 at 36:36, but I highly recommend the whole series.
I have a wide range of professional experiences and personal interests from theater and voice acting, to medicine and sustainability, to writing and teaching science topics. The thread that ties all my experiences together is a joy and curiosity about our beautiful world and how it works. My science background includes: medicine, chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, engineering, and environmental studies. I was a teacher of science, math and engineering for 16 years in public schools and at MIT.
I co-authored a book about sllimy science with the hilarious Joy Masoff and Ben Ligon, called OH ICK! 114 Science Experiments Guaranteed to Gross You Out! and travelled across the US doing science shows at schools. I'm also a contributing author and editor for grades K-8 science textbooks.
